Junior Black Belt is to be taken before the other belts listed here.
Tiger Stripes, these are smaller belts taken to bridge the gap between a junior and senior kyu grades, ensuring the Junior Blackbelt is ready for their Senior Black Belt Grading.
Senpai Stripes, these are teaching stripes which your instructor will inform you you’re ready for. To do a successful senpai stripe the Junior black belt must guide 2 junior students from one belt to another, independently (with sensei overseeing) and the junior students must pass their gradings with a minimum of a pass. Upon successful completion the Junior Blackbelt will pass their Senpai Stripe Grade.
Junior Senpai Tiger Stripe – One
- The first Senpai stripe is achieved by helping the club coach to teach
- You will be assigned 2 juniors from within the first four kyu grades, red – green, and will mentor them to their next grade.
- You will be supervised and coached at all times
- You will successfully achieve your stripe once the juniors you have mentored pass their grade.
Junior Senpai Tiger Stripe – Two
- The second Senpai stripe is achieved by helping the club coach to teach
- You will be assigned 2 juniors from within the second four kyu grades, Blue/white – Brown/white, and will mentor them to their next grade.
- You will be supervised and coached at all times.
- You will successfully achieve your stripe if the juniors you have mentored pass their grade.
Junior Senpai Tiger Stripe – Three
- The final Senpai stripe is achieved by taking a more active role within the club
- You will lead the junior warm up exercises for at least 6 lessons
- You will be assigned 2 juniors from within the first four kyu grades, red-green, and will mentor them to their next grade.
- You are expected to require minimal assistance from the Sensei
- You will hold the grading for your assigned students under the supervision of
- the attending Grading Officer.
- You will successfully achieve your stripe if the Grading Officer feels you have
- successfully held the grade, can lead a warmup and the students you have mentored pass their grade.
